SPRINGFIELD, OHIO – The Springfield High School National Honor Society, consisting of more than 40 juniors and seniors, filled up a number of garbage bags as they collected litter around the high school campus. That clean-up included stretches of Kensington Drive and High School Place to Home Road.
They were one of two groups of Springfield City School District students who observed Earth Day, April 22, by participating in community beautification projects at their respective schools.
Snyder Park Elementary held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the school’s new community garden on Monday afternoon as part of an Earth Day Celebration. The community garden will provide an appealing entrance to the school, while also creating a benefit to the environment.
Volunteers from the Clark County Master Gardeners helped the Snyder Park ‘Cat Council’ student group plant native pollinators in the garden earlier this month.
