The 10-week program goes behind the scenes of city government and starts on January 20.

“I grew up when everything was closing downtown,” he says. “When we moved back, we saw signs of redevelopment happening. We wanted to do our small part of that.”

Another city might be more inclined to have a country music or bluegrass feel, but in Springfield, it just seems to be the right city for jazz and blues."
