Check out the photo gallery of the Haitian Flag Day Fair and Festival – a first-ever event hosted in Veterans Park on Thursday, May 18.

The event was designed to celebrate diversity and the Haitian culture in Springfield and included Haitian food, art, music, speakers and performances.

Earlier in the day, the City of Springfield held a proclamation ceremony at City Hall in honor of the day.

The celebration is one way the city and community have started to welcome the rapidly growing Haitian population in Springfield and Clark County.
