Valentine’s Wedding Spectacular: A chance for brides to meet more than 40 vendors at the Bushnell

Brides and their guests will soon fill the Bushnell Event Center for the upcoming Valentine’s Wedding Spectacular.

The event will include more than 40 vendors, including caterers, musicians, DJs, decoration specialists, and more.

Local McClure Event Promotions is hosting the event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Bushnell. 

“It’s really good for our brides to be able to visualize the décor, get ideas for floral arrangements, find dress options and tux fitting options,” says Lisa Abshear, general manager for the Bushell Event Center.

Having such a mix of vendors all together in one place is key to most brides, Abshear says. 

“Nobody does bridal shows like they used to, so we wanted to help fill that void,” Abshear says. “Plus, you want to meet vendors face to face, try some of their food, and brides will have the time to do that here.”

Additional vendors will include health and beauty experts, and many will provide food samples, dessert samples, and exclusive discounts.

Admission is $5 per person, but every bride gets in for free. Engaged couples also receive a complimentary glass of wine, courtesy of Bartenders On The Go.

Abshear says she will be available at the event to assist anyone interested in exploring the spaces available within the Bushnell Event Center. She says she prides herself on working closely with each person who books the venue to ensure they have what they need and are confident in having a successful event in the space.

While the focus of the event is on weddings, Abshear says anyone who might be interested in connecting with local vendors is welcome to attend.

And, Abshear says the space has become a sought-after event location not only for residents of Springfield and Clark County but also for people from across the region and state because of the amenities available both in the building itself and in Downtown Springfield as a collective.

“We’re not just for Springfield,” she says. “We are a great in-between for people from Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati, and we are a great halfway point.”
