Ushering in a Narnian Christmas

Accepting Turkish delight from Narnia's White Witch is not something we can recommend. But we can recommend taking advantage of more opportunities to usher (and see live plays for free) at John Legend Theatre. Ushers are next needed for Springfield High School players' production of a stage adaptation of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe on December 13 and 14, at John Legend Theatre. Other volunteer usher opportunities for productions in 2025 may be found here Volunteer opportunities.

To qualify, volunteer ushers must:
  • Be 16 years of age or older
  • Able to interact professionally with the public
  • Dress business casual and wear white tops with black bottoms.
Volunteers can earn a $30 credit for an eligible non-profit organization of their choice for each event they usher at and can specify the organization they want to receive the credit when they arrive on site and sign-in.

Eligible non-profits which regularly rent the theater include:
  • Covenant United Methodist Church
  • Gary Geis Dance Company
  • Global Impact Stem Academy
  • Nehemiah Foundation
  • Ohio Performing Arts Institute
  • Springfield Arts Council's Youth Arts Ambassadors
  • Springfield Civic Theatre
  • Springfield Symphony (Jazz and Youth Orchestras)
  • Yellow Springs High School
