Springfield City School District recognizes four local businesses for supporting students

Resume workshops, participating in the high school job fair, and organizing career tables during student lunches — a number of local businesses that make these activities possible recently were recognized for their work in the schools.

What’s happening: The Springfield City School District Board of Education recently recognized a number of local business partners for their contributions to the success of the District’s students.

● McGregor Metal
● Woeber Mustard Company
● Sheehan Brothers Vending
● The City of Springfield

Why it’s important: The recognition is part of the Ohio School Boards Association’s  2024 Business Honor Roll program. The Business Honor Roll program allows Ohio school districts to show appreciation for the invaluable career-readiness skills that local businesses provide to school districts and their students. As the SCSD implements new career pathways for students beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, the relationships between the District and these organizations will only continue to become more critical.

What they are saying: “McGregor Metal, Woeber Mustard Company, Sheehan Brothers Vending and the City of Springfield are continued champions of the success of the Springfield City School District,” says SCSD Superintendent Dr. Bob Hill.

“Some examples of their contributions to our District include serving as members of our Business Advisory Council, hosting resume workshops, participating in our high school job fair or organizing career tables during student lunches. They are committed to our students achieving their goals.”

What else are they saying?: “The District and its students, board members, administrators and staff,” Hill says, “would like to express their sincere appreciation for all that our business partners do to prepare the children in our community for bright futures.”
